What is AZDV?
AZDV is an association of Zimbabwean immigrants who have settled in the Philadelphia area and surrounding counties, including the adjoining states of New Jersey and Delaware (Delaware Valley). The association was formed in 1998 with the objective of having a communal response to crisis involving death, injury and family illness within the Zimbabwean community.Since then the association has broadened its objectives to include facilitating events and functions to bring the community together and foster a cordial relationship among the people of Zimbabwe in the Delaware Valley. The association intends to be a conduit for providing the Zimbabwean immigrant community with web access to information on social services such as healthcare and providing new members with orientation to the area and to resources available for immigrant communities in the Delaware Valley. The other broad aims are 1) to work separately or in association with other similar non-political organizations in the USA or elsewhere for the peace, progress, and prosperity of Zimbabwe, and 2) to promote and maintain good will, educational, social and cultural exchange between the people of Zimbabwe and the people of the United States of America.
AZDV is a registered organization under section (501 C3) of the state of Pennsylvania.
